Ralf's love story with the sea began at the age of 16 in France, where the wind, waves, and the beauty of the open ocean captured his heart. However, life had other plans, and he temporarily left his sailing dreams behind to build a career and embrace family life. But the siren call of the sea never truly left him. Around the age of 28-30, he rediscovered his passion for sailing, joined a crew, and started chartering in the Baltic Sea. The desire to own his own boat grew, and so he became a skipper and bought his first Bugaboo Catamaran, a Lagoon 440, fully equipped and ready for adventures. Soon, he started sharing his knowledge and love for the sea with family, friends, and charter guests. In 2010, Bugaboo embarked on a remarkable journey, crossing the ocean from Mallorca to Barbados, entering the Caribbean. In 2012, Ralf's adventures brought his future wife Betty into the picture. Together they sailed through the Caribbean?s winter seasons for seven incredible years The Bugaboo was eventually sold and they returned to Germany to reconnect with family and focus on business endeavours, but the burning desire to return to sailing remained. They decided to acquire a newer version of the favourite Bugaboo Catamaran. The goal was simple: to let others experience the beauty of the Caribbean from aboard. We're really excited to share our knowledge and network with you! After seven years in the Caribbean, we've made many connections available to assist in any endeavour you'd like to take on. Bugaboo is a familiar name in the region, and that familiarity opens doors to exclusive locations, restaurants, and experiences that are typically inaccessible to tourists. Betty is well-versed in the practices of yoga and meditation, which have delighted the ladies on previous trips. Mornings often begin with breakfast and sun-bathing yoga, while the gentlemen often opt for a deep dive from the deck or engage in sports activities with Ralf. Both of us enjoy cooking and luxury foods. During our time in the Caribbean, we've discovered several local culinary treasures to share with you. We typically go shopping together and explore the vibrant local food markets, making you a part of the ingredient- sourcing experience. We plan the menu, drinks and snacks together with you. Unlike many other charter programs, nothing is locked away, and there are no strict schedules. We like flixibility and freedom! Therefor, the fridge is always fully stocked with your favorite beverages and snacks, and all meals are served with a personalised touch. As all bookings are tailored, the activites vary from exploring secluded islands, fishing for today's catch, indulging in local shopping, or simply enjoying the onboard activities like snorkeling, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), water sports, or leisurely relaxation on the deck. Betty's favorite spot is the front deck cushions, offering a cosy haven for afternoon reading or sunbathing. If you're curious about learning more about sailing a Catamaran, Ralf can provide sailing training and teach you how to sail the waves, navigate and identify potential dangerous currents.
