What do you enjoy most about being a Moorings Crew? Helping people create beautiful memories and taking pride in the exceptional service we provide. What is your favourite aspect of the destination in which you work? Places we visit are truly exceptional and mesmerizing. Seeing them only once wouldn?t give them justice. Also, spending time at beautiful places while having amazing support from my co-workers on the boat and in the Agana base is why I love coming back here. Do you have any hobbies or interests aside from sailing? What do you do on your downtime? Besides sailing I love meditating , working out and staying active (lifting weights, calisthenics, skateboarding, surfing, bodysurfing, bodyboarding, freediving, swimming, biking and sometimes running) Captain Deni grew up in continental Croatia - Zagreb. A restless spirit with an early passion for travel, he went to the US to study Psychology and Sociology and then worked in US, Portugal, and Bulgaria. Upon return to Croatia, he attended Skipper's Academy and has stuck with sailing ever since - first as the flotilla skipper for 3 years, then advancing to Skippered and Crewed charter. According to his own words - the best part about being onboard the whole time is the freedom to be in various places in a small space of time. As captain, he has to adapt and calculate the guests' wishes, wind, and weather conditions, so it is always a challenge maintaining a balance, so there is never a dull moment while on the water. Besides sailing, Deni enjoys staying active by lifting weights, calisthenics, skateboarding, surfing, bodysurfing, bodyboarding, freediving, swimming, biking and sometimes running. After finishing maritime technologies university, my ideal career was on a yacht. I love to sail and meet new people and see new places. Combining the whole experience with food that I learned mostly on the lap of my Dalmatian parents, is really a dream come true, and I hope to put all the Croatian experience through taste on a plate for all our guests.While being The Moorings crew, I enjoy most the fact that the guests are having the best vacation they can have, and I have been part of that experience. The destination we are in - Croatia, has so much to offer, and every time being onboard offers a different perspective to every little town and bay. Mediterranean cuisine has always been a passion of mine - learning about it from my Nona, so I prefer the hearty, homemade dishes that are meant for sharing, so that is the experience I'd like our guests to enjoy as well. What do you enjoy most about being a Moorings Crew? Happy and satisfied guests who, thanks to you, had the best vacation so far. What is your favourite aspect of the destination in which you work? Exploring the coast and islands from a different perspective, visiting interesting places and towns. What is the chef's favourite cuisine to prepare? Do you have a specialty? Mediterranean cuisine has always been a passion of mine ? learning about it from my nona. I prefer the hearty, home-made dishes that are meant for sharing. Do you have any hobbies or interests aside from sailing? What do you do on your downtime? Everybody needs to relax every now and then. I love to go to the gym when I can and watch a good movie.
